Wooden bowl

I like warmth of this shot; the colors, the grain of the wood, and the subtle reflection.  This bowl sits on a shelf in our bedroom and is illuminated from recessed fixtures in the ceiling.

Reflections of a watch

I thought these would be neat for Weekend Reflections #18.  I took a ton of shots, playing with camera angle, aperture, and shutter speed.  It was quite educational and I encourage you to experiment under controlled conditions like this.

For this shot, I should have gone for a smaller aperture, like 10 or higher, to get the bottom left of the camera lens in focus.

And now for something completely different ...

I shot this at the Neshaminy Cemetery.  I've driven by it many times and finally decided to visit.  It is an active cemetery yet it contains graves from the Revolutionary and Civil Wars.  Some headstones are so old, it's difficult or impossible to read the inscriptions.  The link above takes you to a website that has some other shots of the cemetery.



The quaint chapel can be seen from the road and catches your eye.  The deepness of the blue in the sky can be attributed to the Circular Polarizer.

It has an interesting bell that is currently not functioning.  In the US, we are amazed at buildings that are one or two hundred years old, yet in Europe and Asia, buildings many times this age are not uncommon.

OK, this is a creepy one.  I took a shot of the back of the headstones and originally converted it to B&W in Lightroom.  It looked OK, but it lacked something.  I made a virtual copy of the original and applied a WOW Preset (B&W #2).  These are a free download and some of them are quite interesting.  I think this one is positively evil.

Egg

Year ago, I traveled to Singapore on business and bought a few trinkets, one of which was this egg.  I shot this on our kitchen counter lighted only by a recessed fixture, hence the brightness on the top.

Bentley

This is the hood ornament from a Bentley Convertible I saw at the "America on Wheels" museum in Allentown.  This is one of the first car you see after entering and there's no guessing why.  This car is exquisite.

Snowy rail

 I shot this at Peace Valley Park in the midst of a snowstorm.  This wooden railing is part of a bridge that crosses the Neshaminy, which feed Lake Galena.

I like how the snow was flying around.

 I played with this as B&W, but the 'color' adds a subtle touch to the shot.  I presented both, I'd love to hear your opinions.

End of the day

I shot this at Lake Galena near dusk this past summer. I wanted to save it for the dead of Winter, so we could all think about something else.

Most of the boats are retired for the day, the sun just setting behind the trees. Very Tranquil.
