Yellow Balls

My wife has a glass container full of these yellow beads.  They contain fragrance and evaporate over time.  I saw these one day and said to me self "Self, you need to take a photo of that.".  A few days later, I looked at the container again and they had shrunk to minuscule little nothings.  She recently refilled the container so I got right on it.

I submitted this for Mellow Yellow Monday #58

Canon EF 100mm f/2.8 Macro USM lens
Exposure 2.5 sec @ f5.6 (Aperture Priority)
ISO 100

I bet they'd make a neat time lapse series!

Those balls look nice - are they only decorations or does your wife use them for something?

I can certainly see why you took this one, Wayne... It would command my attention as well because of the interesting patterns and reflections... but I probably wouldn't have thought of taking a pic. Well done.

Marka,

Great idea! I think it takes a week or more for them to fully disintegrate. I'll give that some thought.

Marilla, They are a decoration that gives off a fragrance. They decompose over time, so they need to be periodically replaced.

Thanks Earnest. My wife thinks I'm nuts because of some of the wacky photos I shoot. She's right.

That is so cool! It looks like bubbles in bubbles. Truthfully is a 'mellow' shot.
