I am please to display the photographic work of a guest photographer, my oldest son, Nicholas (Nick) who is seventeen.
This is a shot of way up high of City Hall in Philadelphia. It was shot by Nick while I was driving. The family decided to visit Tony Luke's for an 'authentic' Cheese Steak this past Saturday and came home Broad Street, which takes you around City Hall. To be honest, I was dying behind the wheel. I could have filled up every memory card I own on that trip! Nick took a lot of shots and I kept a bunch. You'll definitely see one of them on Weekend Reflections. He shot a bunch of really funny signs, but many of them didn't come out too good. He created several excellent abstract works, mainly due to shaking hands.
I had to crop this big time because of the funky exposure and lighting.

I though this one was really cool. A shot of the GPS on the dashboard as we cruised up Broad Street. The GPS was telling me to turn left on Stenton Avenue, but of course, being male, I can't listen to directions. Actually, I lived in the Mount Airy section of while attending college, so I knew a better route.

And lastly, this one. Nick wanted to shoot the McDonald's in the background, but fortunately, for him, the auto-focus decided otherwise. I really thought this was a great shot.

Nick did a great job. Love that first shot, cropped and all. How were the cheesesteaks?
All of them great, I agree that the last one is much better than if the focus had been on McD's. The first one is marvellous.
Thanks Rebecca. The cheesesteaks were OK. We went to TL's sportsbar across the street. They got busy and the meal arrived a little cold, but still very tasty!
Hi ceildequimper! I liked the first one as well. I'm looking forward to another trip ASAP! Center City has a lot of cool thinks to photograph and it's east to get to by train. I imagine I could spend an entire day just at City Hall. It's a very ornate building.
Woody, I love the shot of the GPS on the dash--the McDonald one is a great shot also! Looking forward to more from Nick too :)
I agree about the focus on the last shot. I like it where it is. The yellows in the background provide nice counterpoint to the red tail light :) Peace
My favourite is the first one, I loved the angle!
Wonderful pictures!

Kudos to Nick! Nice photos!
It looks like photography runs in the family. :)
The art of dead reckoning is.... dead.
