Eye of the Zephyr

This is a closeup (duh) of our dog, Zephyr.  She is a Miniature Schnauzer and a great dog.  She doesn't have a mean bone in her body.  Every other dog we've owned had certain things that would piss them off, but not Zephyr. Nothing phases her.

On the flip side, she's not the sharpest tool in the shed.  She's over a year old and is just beginning to get the hang of giving a paw.  We're not sure if she'll ever get it, but that's OK.

This is my submission for Weekend Reflections #26.  If you look closely at her eyes, you can see my reflection.  She's not really a fan of being photographed and normally runs away from the camera.  I caught her off guard one day and got this.

Canon EF 50mm f1.4 USM lens
Exposure 1/50 sec @ f1.4

Sounds like a sweet dog. Amazing how they become part of the family. Every time I get my camera to photograph our dog, he runs toward the camera and licks it. Yuck.

She's a beauty, And yeah, mine have a habit of turning away from the camera intentionally. In fact, it's the word TREATS that's required to get a look at all from them :)

Great shot and she sounds like a wonderful dog and she looks like a sweetheart. I had a Miniature Schnauzer when I was a kid and he was the high strung and loud and not very nice. I'm sure my brother and I were responsible for 90% of his bad behavior.

Well, I see she is doing great in the reflection area! She looks like a friendly dog:-)

And - being no native speaker- I love the saying: "she's not the sharpest tool in the shed", never heard or read it before, so I had a big , loud laugh about it:-))))) Thank you, Zephyr.... and Wayne;-)))

such a sweet portrait of her, she looks adorable. In Scots we'd say she was a bit dippit for not being the brightest

Zephyr sounds like my sort of person, that alone dog! You are the one that lights up her eye!

Zepher is certainly a cutie! I wanna squeeze her! She looks and sounds like a pretty sweet little pup. She may not like the camera, but it looks like she's posing here, cute!

As long as she's having fun, loving y'all, and y'all are loving her, that's all the matters.

Miniature Schnauzers are the best! I might be exaggerating, but truly they are wonderful dogs! I'm surprised she isn't very smart as the ones I know are very sharp! You sure she isn't teasing you? LOL

Nice portrait of a friend and a very subtle and effective reflection.

Now that is a cool self portrait! She sounds like a sweetie, most Schnauzers are really intelligent. Are you sure she's not playing you? Maybe she just doesn't think she should have to work for her treats! Kathy

A great name for a dog like that. Who needs smart when you've got love?
