lightning bugs

We recently had a nasty storm that dropped 1.6" (4cm) of rain in less than one hour.  My wife noticed that the lightning bugs had crawled out of the grass and were seeking refuge on the plants and flowers. These guys were hanging out on the daylillies.

Nice shot! Hope it has a raincoat... We had a big storm last night but not so much rain.

PS. I send my photo to the Weekend Reflections. :)

I saw lightning bugs at night once on a visit to Kansas. They are so amazing. I had never seen one in the daytime - til now!
