Mill Road Bridge

These shots are of the Mill Road Bridge (bet you can't guess what road it's on).  It was built in 1888 and is still in service today.  It's not too far from the Bridge of Eight Arches and also spans the Neshaminy Creek.

This is the underside of the bridge.  I like the symmetry and monochrome make this rock.  I'm submitting this for 'The Weekend in Black and White'.

I'm away for a while, so I may not get to commenting on your blogs, sorry!

Here's a more 'normal' view.  Pretty cool old bridge.  The bridge design is referred to as "Whipple through truss"

I like it!

I'm going to look for this bridge. It looks like we are on the same wavelength today. :)

Great shots of the old bridge! Frederick county, MD has a number of these old truss bridges. In my sidebar I have links to images of some of them.

Mill Road? Hah! Nice shot Woody. I agree with you about the way the geometry and monochrome make this shot rock. Nice work.

I like the way you shot the underside of the bridge. Very interesting view.

You did some research? Or do you naturally know all that about bridges. I like the touch of sun in the first photo. Adds interest.

Good shot with the geometric shapes. I really like the colour shot for the way it shows some 'out of the way' stream crossing.

Oh that first shot is fantastic! I've got a bridge from the 70s, the 1970s that is! Lol, yours is a century older and I like it very much!

«Louis» likes both images, but particularly the geometry in the first one.

«Louis» thanks you for your contribution to Sunday Bridges.
