My youngest son, Alex, captured a bunch of salamanders the other day. They are quite difficult to photograph with a macro lens, because they don't stay still.
Reposted because blogger lost the photo :-(
Canon EF 100mm f2.8 USM Macro lens
Exposure 1/100 sec @ f3.2
ISO 200
Curves adjusted for contrast
What we used to call 'salamanders' here are actually newts, and they tend to freeze when scared. Makes for easy pictures ... but boring. I like your salamander shot! It must have been quite young!

Except when you hold them still. Poor little thing must have been terrified! ;-)

Wonderful macro! wow fabulous shot!
Léia :)
Good macro and I would observe that just about everything is difficult with a macro lens... :))
Wow, that's a cute little salamander! I haven't seen any for a long time.
Seems you did pretty well with this one. I love the dirt on the critter.

Oh, I can just imagine the difficulty! Last week I tried to capture tree blossoms in the wind - I think you did way better than I did!
For me is a excellent image.
