Rusty bolts

I found these large mounting bolts for the towers that support the power lines for the railroad.  One might wonder why such large supports are required for a few cables (only kidding).

Skipping stones

My son was skipping stones across Lake Galena at dusk.  I though this shot was cool.  The rock has made the first impact and is on its way to a second.

I found this interesting artwork on a boxcar parked in Landsale near the train station.  I really like the whole western theme.  I think some graffiti art is stunning.

Sometimes, I amuse myself

Check out this landscape. I shot these at Peace Valley Park, which is literally 5 minutes from my home.  I think it's a pretty cool shot, but if you look closely, something's not quite right.

The photo you just looked at was actually upside down.  I shot the reflection of the trees in perfectly still water.  My youngest son gave me an idea.  He asked me to flip my laptop display upside down because he though the photo would look cool upside down and he's correct.  Here's the real deal.

Duck at dusk

I shot this at Lake Galena at dusk last Sunday.  I really like the color at sunset.  The wake left by the dusk was also pretty interesting.

This is a shot of the right cylinder and head from my motorcycle. I thought it was interesting, you probably do not. That's OK, I'm not insulted.

Gerber Daisy

I shot this when we released one of our butterfly's. There's a million ways I could improve this shot when I get my next opportunity, but I just thought this was really cool. I like the legs grasping the flower, the eyes, antenna, and the water droplets. Maybe next time I'll open the aperture a bit more. I was a cloudy day, which maybe worked to my favor.

Livin' large

So now that Summer is over, I'm posting a shot of Zephyr learning how to swim. She was not fond of it at first, but after getting her to hook her front paws over the edge of a 'subskate', she got more comfortable. She then figured out how to get her rear paws on the subskate, she was good. She's been swimming a few times since and she is getting more comfortable. She can swim pretty well - no flapping of paws and splashing all over the place.

Sand Crab

In honor of Labor Day, I thought I'd post something I've been saving since our vacation. Some children found a crab at the water's edge at Rehoboth Beach. I snapped a shot before he burrowed back into the sand. Check it's right eye, I swear it was looking at me. It must have conversed with the seagull.

Tiles

We have the area above our fireplace mantel tiled with small glass tiles. I used the macro lens and got up close at one end. I focused towards the middle of the tiled area. I thought the effect, while somewhat abstract, to be pretty interesting. I hope you enjoy.
