Sometimes, I amuse myself

Check out this landscape. I shot these at Peace Valley Park, which is literally 5 minutes from my home.  I think it's a pretty cool shot, but if you look closely, something's not quite right.
You can click on any of the shots for a larger image.

The photo you just looked at was actually upside down.  I shot the reflection of the trees in perfectly still water.  My youngest son gave me an idea.  He asked me to flip my laptop display upside down because he though the photo would look cool upside down and he's correct.  Here's the real deal.

Canon EF 24-105mm L f4 IS USM lens
24mm Focal Length
Exposure 1/14 sec @ f4.5
ISO 200
Curves adjusted.

Here's another shot of the same general area from a wide angle perspective.

Canon EF-S 10-22mm f3.5-4.5 USM lens
10mm Focal Length
Exposure 1/125 sec @ f4.0
ISO 200
Curves adjusted (barely)

And yet another wide angle from a different stream ...

Canon EF-S 10-22mm f3.5-4.5 USM lens
10mm Focal Length
Exposure 1/40 sec @ f4.0
ISO 200
Curves adjusted (barely)

okay okay, I admit, you got me on the first photo. And I should've known better because I've posted puddle reflections before. Ah well, such is life. Nice photos! Kudos to the little one for the idea and you for posting it!

I agree with Marka; that picture made my head hurt for a while. I just couldn't tell what was going on at first.

I find it VERY hard (obviously, unless you use a view camera) to compose a shot like that.

Constructive plugging below ;)

Very Nice, I couldn't tell the first one was up side down until you showed us.

Beautiful area where you live.

Léia and Bill,

It's not all that beautiful :-(

I have lived near this park for almost 20 years and never knew this section of the park existed! My youngest son's class went on a trip here recently and he showed me the way. It's very peaceful there.

Entertaining post with beautiful reflections! The first image is so "trippy" and it was interesting to see more shots of the area too.

My son looks at the world that first way, too.

You are so lucky to have such a peaceful and green area close to your neighbourhood.

Lovely photographs of stunning reflections.

Like the wide angle stuff a lot.

As that you are into photography, I thought that you may be interested in a monthly blog posting called “5 on the fifth” where You can either take 5 random pictures of anything that happens to you on the 5th of December (or the days leading up to it) or perhaps go for my suggested theme.

Just post your pictures on your own blog and then post a comment on MY blog with your name, location and link to your site – I then update the entry so the world has your link. Remember to mention my blog on your own blog so that your visitors get to see the other contributions.

Interested?

Very nicely done. All of the shots are so colorful and fun. I got a little dizzy on the first one and was happy when I could turn my laptop right side up again :-)
