Reflections in a water drop

I was walking from my car to the house and I noticed this plant that had captured water drops from the rain the night before.  I set up the tripod and the macro lens and went to town.  Check out the droplet at the 11 o'clock position from the big drop - it's pretty cool too. This is my submission for Weekend Reflections #32

So the next time you are bummed it's raining, think outside the box.  When live gives you lemons, make lemonade.

One note, I scheduled this through blogger and obviously picked the wrong date.  This should have shown up on Friday morning, my apologies!

Agreed... some of the best photos I've ever taken were during/after rain... This one is great.

That is so cool! I can see your reflection in three water drops.

It's the Thompson-Neely Mill next to the Bowman Wildflower Reserve. :) I took lots of pictures of the house, the mill and the grounds. I was really nice because it was a beautiful day and I was the only person there.

That's a gem, I mean something that should be reproduced as jewellery. Wow, Weekend Reflections already?

Oh and thanks for the panorama of Paris. If it hadn't been so hazy on the day that was done, you could have seen Versailles!

Wonderful reflections, I loved the 'macro" water drops and your words about to make a lemonade.
Oh my friend, thanks for this inspiration, I need to learn more how to make a good lemonade and be more calm, after all the live is wonderful, isn't it?
Adorable post! :)

Dear Woody:

It's hard for me to comment on photography of this calibre. As you are aware, my perception of life is primarily focused through a toilet seat, and I struggle to say something meaningful, especially when I am in over my head.

I thought the composition of this picture was extraordinary, a fine balance of color, light, and focus. But it made me think of a page from the epic novel "Shogun," in which Mariko-san and her estranged husband Buntaro have completed a formal tea ceremony, that was so perfect, that they ended up contemplating a single drop on the petal of a rose.

She is so impressed, that she would willing take her life if he asked her to. I wasn't that impressed, but I did like this picture.

Beautiful image Wayne. The reflections are perfect, the composition thoughtful and the colors just right (not in your face).

Water drops and their reflections have long been a favorite capture of mine. I like the silhouette you've captured. i was surprised however to not see things upside down.

This exquisite photo fills my eyes, which is the greatest compliment I can give.

One can see the entire world in a drop of water, you know...lovely reflection.
